From her early days in the bustling fashion industry of Toronto to her time as a dog trainer, birth doula, and lactation consultant, Shawn's passion for learning and serving others has always been at the forefront. But it was in 2006 that she embarked on her most ambitious venture yet—opening a retail store! So many great stories of hers begin with "this one time I bought a church" 

As her family grew, so too did her interests and business endeavors. From a thriving baby shop that evolved to cater to older kids, Shawn's entrepreneurial spirit led her to the creation of Myrtle in 2018—a women's clothing store, a place for women to buy comfortable, fashionable and size inclusive clothing.

With Myrtle's mission at the heart of everything she does, Shawn is dedicated to creating a comfortable life with fashion and gifts that speak to the soul. From clothing that feels as good as it looks to thoughtful gifts for all occasions, Myrtle is more than just a store—it's a destination where customers can discover pieces that enhance their lives and reflect their unique style.

In the winter of 2024, Shawn made the bold decision to combine her two shops into one location, creating a space that embodies the very best of fashion and gifts for all ages. This move has not only streamlined operations but has also strengthened her connection with her team and customers alike.

When she's not busy at Myrtle, you'll likely find Shawn exploring the beauty of nature in the woods or lending a helping hand to local dog rescue efforts, a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the community.

With three wonderful children and a loving husband, Neil, by her side since 2002, Shawn's journey is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the pursuit of purpose. As the heart and soul of Myrtle, she continues to inspire us all to dream big and make a difference, one stylish step at a time.

Meet Mary Kay, the vibrant heart and soul of our team at Myrtle! With five years of dedicated service under her belt, Mary Kay brings a refreshing blend of humor and straight-shooting honesty to every interaction.

Dressed in a kaleidoscope of fun colors, Mary Kay is a firm believer that fashion should be as bold and expressive as you are. If you want to wear it, she'll be the first to cheer you on.

As a proud wife of Tim and mother of twin adult daughters and the devoted fur parent to Peanut the Jack Russell and Nacho the orange cat (courtesy of the cat distribution system), Mary Kay's life is a delightful whirlwind of laughter and love. 

But don't let her lighthearted demeanor fool you—Mary Kay is a powerhouse when it comes to efficiency and organization. As our office guru, she keeps us all in line and our operations running smoothly. We'd literally be a mess without her!

Introducing Ingrid, the creative powerhouse and social media maestro of our team at Myrtle! With half a decade of dedicated service under her belt, Ingrid has worn many hats, but her favorite by far is her role as our social media manager. 

Ingrid's creativity knows no bounds, as she constantly churns out delightful content that keeps our customers entertained, informed, and coming back for more. Whether it's a witty caption, a stunning photo, or a behind-the-scenes peek, Ingrid's magic touch shines through in every post.

You could say Ingrid is practically a fixture at Myrtle, as she's always on-site, capturing content and bringing our brand to life. But don't think she's all pixels and pixels—Ingrid also graces the sales floor every Thursday, using her keen eye for style to assist customers and share her passion for fashion.

When she's not busy crafting the perfect Instagram story, Ingrid shares her home in St. Thomas with her partner Rob and their two adorable kitties, Jersey and Jethro. With her creativity, dedication, and feline companions by her side, Ingrid is an invaluable asset to our team and a beloved member of the Myrtle family.

Meet Heather, our rockstar of retail and the queen of all things chic at Myrtle! She been an essential part of our team for 5 years, and if you've met her, you understand why! 

When she's not busy charming customers with her killer sales skills, Heather's living the international love story dream, being married to an Aussie bloke. And let's not forget her fluffy sidekick, Poe the much loved and spoilted Pomeranian, who's probably got more style and attitude than most humans.

Now, Heather's fashion sense might lean towards the dark side (seriously, does she even own anything that isn't black?), but don't let that fool you. She's a maestro at helping our customers find their fashion groove, even if it means convincing them to step out of their comfort zone.

But it's not just about the sales numbers with Heather – though she does crush it on the regular. Nope, it's her sweet, bubbly personality that keeps folks coming back for more. Building relationships with our treasured customers is always her first priority. Seriously, if smiles were currency, Heather would be rolling in it.

Yana comes to us all the way from Ukraine, where she owned and operated her own clothing boutique. With her incredible knowledge of fashion and warm, welcoming personality, Yana is excited to share her expertise with you.

While Yana is fluent in the language of style, her first language is Ukrainian. We kindly ask our amazing customers to show her the same patience and kindness that you always bring to our store.
